New Futures with KPMG
KPMG believes in creating opportunities and building a more inclusive workforce, so they developed The New Futures Programme to support prison leavers with skills development, mentoring and access to sustainable employment.
In this special episode, the Exceptional Voices Team are live from KPMG's Canary Wharf headquarters, speaking with the team behind the New Futures initiative, including Thea Tomison and Francesca Hall. They are joined by Rohan, a participant currently taking part in the programme.
Since launching in 2022, New Futures has supported over 50 prison leavers, with several going on to secure permanent roles at KPMG. By sharing their journey, KPMG hopes to inspire employers across the UK to follow their lead and building a more diverse workforce for the future.

THEA TOMISON | New Futures Programme Lead and Management Consultant, KPMG
Thea Tomison is a management consultant at KPMG and the lead of the firm's New Futures Programme, a pioneering initiative that provides meaningful employment opportunities for prison leavers. She has been instrumental in shaping and driving the programme, partnering with third-sector organisations and internal stakeholders to redesign recruitment and support processes, broaden inclusivity and create sustainable careers in professional services. Thea's leadership helped launch the New Futures pilot in 2022, which has since employed multiple prison leavers and attracted national recognition, including being a finalist for the 2025 MCA Inclusion Award. Her work reflects a deep commitment to equitable employment, social impact and innovation at the intersection of business and community.
FRANCESCA HALL | New Futures Programme Lead and Assistant Manager, KPMG
Francesca Hall is Assistant Manager and New Futures Programme Lead at KPMG UK, focusing on guiding participants through the New Futures Programme and supporting their transition into professional roles. She works closely with participants and partner organisations to provide tailored support, skill-building opportunities, and confidence development, helping individuals establish sustainable careers while advancing KPMG's commitment to inclusive employment.
